  1. RSC Northern can support you with your staff development programme

We can support you in planning your staff development programme. We can help you devise, implement and evaluate effective strategies and activities for issues such as:

    * e-learning skills audits for new or existing staff

    * strategies for particular staff groups, such as reluctant users, new teachers, managers or learning resources staff

    * ensuring that classroom observers can recognise when e-learning is used well - or could have been used

    * carry out an e-Progress Review- an overview of the current state of ILT within your organisation

    * using new learning tools such as camera phones, blogs, podcasting, voting pads, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and camcorders

    * act as a broker to help you find the training you want

  2. Contact Christine Bravey to discuss how we can help on 0191 515 2917.

  3. Regional Events

We organise a programme of events which is listed on our events page of this website  Members of our supported organisations are all very welcome to attend these events, some of which have a nominal cost and others are free.  These events are publicised by way of email digests, fliers and via Forums.  If you are interested in attending these, please contact Christine Bravey on the number above.

  4.   Joining in our Forum

We have an email list for all those involved in staff development in the region.   Joining the list will not only keep you informed about what is going on, but link you to a network of colleagues with whom you can share experiences etc with.

The Forum meet 3 times a year - November, February and June.  There is a Chair and Deputy Chair and agenda items are agreed at the start of the Academic Year.  If you are interested in joining this group, please email chris.bravey@sunderland.ac.uk

  5. Teaching and Learning - Resources for teacher educators.

If you teach on teacher education programmes or coach and support colleagues to improve their teaching and learning, these resources are for you.  The resources include a wide and varied range of learning activities, case studies, videos, interactives and more. They can help you to focus on key themes and topics related to teaching and learning and also provide content and examples which can be used directly with teachers across the learning and skills sector.
